Talcott Mountain from Nod Road

This is an old photo from 1974
But still should look the same as this every
mid-October.
Heublein Tower is part of the Talcott Mtn. State Park off Route 185
(Simsbury Road) and is near the Avon/Simsbury line.
The mountain is about 900 feet high there and is part of the
Metacomet Ridge trap rock hills ( traversed by the Metacomet Trail)
which go North-South.

View of cliffs of Talcott Mountain

This is a close-up of the cliff - the trail goes along
the top up there, with a beautiful view.
The dark hole on the left is
King Philip's Cave.

Town Forest Road

This is off of Stratton Brook Road between Weatogue (Rt 10)
and West Simsbury
