    Getting TO/AROUND: The only way to come down is to fly unless you're arriving for port of call from Yokosuka. The nearest airport is in Guam; it's a thirty minute flight from there. If you fly with Continental Airlines, you will be connecting in Guam before reaching Saipan. If you fly Northwest Airlines or Japan Air Lines, you will be flying straight to Saipan from Japan (three hour flight).
    Most sailors that stop by enjoy renting the mopeds and cruising around the island on their own. If you're staying for a couple of days, it's in your best interest to rent a car. Renting a jeep or a convertible is a nice way to enjoy the year round 83 degree weather.
