<font face=verdana color=midnightblue>OK. I'm biased. I am Nashville born and bred, and I love my hometown. It's a perfect blend of Southern charm and entreprenurial spirit. Large enough to have everything, and small enough to be personable and manageable, Nash-vegas is the best place in America for consistently top-notch live music. In fact, I'd be hard-pressed to find a better place in the world. Maybe London, I guess.

Nashville is more than Music City. The charming historic center (the District) is a great place to start, with great restaurants and bars, plus cool historic sites. Check out West End, Belle Meade, and Hillsboro Village or other great historic areas. Vanderbilt University is both beautiful and educational. Across the street, stop by Centennial Park and the Parthenon, built in 1896 for the centenary celebrations. OK, so Athens may also have one, but ours didn't get blown up by the Turks. Plus, the collection of artifacts is actually pretty durn good.

If you get a little tired of the cityscape, take a breather at Randor Lake, a full state conservation area in the middle of the city. You feel as though you're miles from civilisation as you scamper through the forested hills. Nashville's got other good parks as well, particularly Percy Warner in the Southwestern end of the city. Drive down Belle Meade Boulevard to get there and dream about affording those homes.

Nashville is, was, and will always be my home, and as such, I love it. Come on by and stay a spell. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
