The monster St Columba defeated... | The Loch Ness exhibition centre float in Inverness |
...so why are we still struggling to prove its existence? The pictish kelpie and this particular Columba legend are proof enough... When I was living in Shetland, my lodger explained that the wind could strike the sea so strongly at an original angle, that it could create big white moving patterns of foam, and that is why they are called "white horses".
It is a pity that Nessie should be used as a gimmick, but what do you want to do, eh? |
| | Marvellous shores I wanted to feel the water of this legendary loch so we found a place to park the car and we went down to what looked like a seaside beach. I couldn't believe they actually were waves in the loch! And the colour of the stones is so Scottish! I stayed a long moment in the silence of the waves. A most agreeable experience! |
