Heaven on Earth

New to surfing?

Oh this is Heaven on Earth! Best surf one could ask for! If you are a beginner, then you want to stay on the West side and get your skills down at Cowells beach. Nice sandy break with lots of other new people! And when you tire out, you can walk around the corner (by the lighthouse) to Steamer Lane and watch some the best surfers in Santa Cruz! DO NOT paddle out here unless you know you belong in the lineup! Beware of rocks there too! There are showers & bathrooms here. If you keep driving north, you will come to the butterfly sanctuary which is a great place to chill too.

Killer breaks

If you a seasoned surfer, then Steamer Lane on the West side is for you! Great when its working. Otherwise, hit the East side and cruise by 38th or check out Capitola. My heaven on earth was right around 36th to 38th street. There are lots of sites with webcams for these breaks. Jack lives over there...if you have to ask, "Jack who?" then you have no business in this area LOL Keep an eye out for Wingnut and lots of other local cuties!

As Pleaure Point street meanders along, you will make a sharp left...that is The Hook...usually a shortboard spot. There are showers here and bathrooms too.

Time to Feed!

After you catch all the perfect waves, I must recommend Pink Godzilla! Its on 38th not too far from the water. BEST sushi for the price, hands down! Super great people work there and it just the best!
