Wendover began as an airfield on the flat lands of Utah. Just steps away from Nevada gaming laws though, over the years the town grew west, casinos right on the state line, leaving Wendover Utah without much tax base. For years they shared schools, but with the completion of bigger and more casinos bringing in more people and more students, West Wendover NV wanted their own school. That left Wendover Utah somewhat strapped, both for students and money.

There was talk for awhile about annexing Wendover into Nevada. As this would require a change in State Boundaries it was discussed rather thoroughly and for the moment shelved. It is a tale of two cities. One rich, the other poor. Wendover Utah continues to hold on....for now.

If you visit Wendover at all I assume you will stay and play in West Wendover NV. That is a different town from the one I share here.
