"Quintessential Rural Utah" Monroe by Segolily

Monroe Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 17 photos

Monroe Utah is a sleepy little town that feels like it has seen better days. There isn't much to the downtown area. A library, a fast food, a new sit-down restaurant, a gas station, a city park.

My sister in law grew up here, but all of her family left. Not much to keep a body going and it didn't look like much had changed in the last 40 years.

Settled by Mormon Pioneers mostly from Scandinavia it retains its Mormon base and foundation. Laid out in large square blocks, all the homes have space for a garden, with the farms being on the outskirts of town.

There is a nice online history of the town.
