"Enchanting" a Mont Saint Michel Travel Page by Segolily

A visit to Mont St Michel became a must do for me ever since that first French class so many years ago when I tried to decipher a description of it even though I had never heard of it before. It was better than I imagined. The abbaye was wonderful, the hotel was great, the sunset marvelous, the tiny medival street engaging, the climbs up and down the rampart heart pounding, the views over the bay endless. I don't know what it is like during the middle of the day. We arrived late afternoon, stayed overnight and were gone just as the parking lot began to fill. We felt like pilgrims, a part of the long history of this unique site.
