An unexpected bird sanctuary and other Mont-Ormel, France Hotel/Accommodation Reviews

There is a hotel and restaurant, though they weren't open during our stay. There are also a dozen or so little cottages scattered on the hillside overlooking a lake. The resort has seen better days and the brochures and website are sadly misleading. The pool is long dry, the miniture golf not good for many years, the docks sans boats are rusted and creaky, no horses on site. And yet our stay here was good. Our gite was basic with a small kitchenette, old bathroom and small table along with the three adequate beds. However the view over the lake and the plethora of birds more than made up for the inadequate lodging. The location was ideal for a quiet get away, not perhaps what the resort intended. For us it was a small unpolished gem.
