One awesome place to go on earth, virtual paradise at the altitude of 11,000 feet. You have to be there to believe such beauty exists on earth.!!
Morning flight from Delhi and within an hour we reached Delhi. Magnificient aerial view. One has tp go by air to see the splendour. Reaching Leh taxi took us to Hotel Spic and Span, one of the best hotels in Leh. Slightly expensive but good one to stay. Though, the first day one cannot think of doing anything except sleeping. Yes, lack of oxygen makes one feel dizzy and so it is advised to sleep a lot, drink a lot of water. We did go out to the market in the evening. Quite developed market.
Next day, we went to Khardongla pass. World's highest motorable pass at 18,500 feet height. And that was where we experienced our first brush with the snowfall.

Going to Leh

This trip has been one of the memorable trips I've ever made. You have to be there to feel it is all true. Beauty galore! Situated at the altitude 11,00 feet Leh is one awesome place that offers peace, spirituality and loads of activity too. Mostly, visited by foreigners Leh is truly a paradise on earth.

Khardongla Pass and Pangong lake

The next day we started at 11 am for Khardongla pass and guess what lots of snow greeted us, clouds, snow, cold wind together made us clinch our teech. We had taken qualis and the study vehicle tyook us safely to the top. Though we could not see the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges from the top due to snowfall the journey in itself was worth taking. Total journey took 5 hours. To and Fro.
Next day began our most difficult journey to Pangong lake on Indo- China border. What a way! Mountains, valleys , straight road, snowfall, beautiful river, stark mountains, there is no word to describe what greets your eye on the way. Total journey to and fro 10 hours.
Pangong lake: One third of the lake is in India rest in China. Carry food, plenty of water and lots of woolllens with you. Oxygen cylinder will also be of good use.
