April 1989 Boyfriend seconded to Hong Kong for six months. Girlfriend saved hard and joined him for the last couple of days then a slow boat to China (literally), return by train and a holiday in Thailand. Bussed it around the country while he tested me on Contract Law for exam day after return to UK. Not related to the trip but I passed thank goodness |
November 1991 Boyfriend re-seconded to Hong Kong for two years but girlfriend already seconded to Paris for a year (see My Spiritual Home) saves all her holiday and spends a month in Asia, first in Hong Kong then in Sri Lanka and Thailand. |
June 1992 to February 1996 Girlfriend finishes contract in Paris and joins boyfriend to live in Hong Kong for a year which turns into almost four. |
