Although I have only been to Fiji once, I feel as though I know the place more than I really do given my Fiji heritage. As both my parents have grown up in Fiji, as well as a million of my relatives, I have learnt a lot about the history, culture, and lifestyle of Fiji.
Fiji is an island paradise for tourists. The more remote little islands provide an escape from the big city life. And the calm, blue waters and clean beaches only make the atmosphere even more relaxing. However, this is not the life that the local people experience. Often it is too expensive for the ordinary Fiji citizen to afford. So make sure that if and when you visit Fiji, you spend time at the beautiful resorts as well as the towns and cities so that you get a more realistic and true representation of the life and culture in Fiji.
