Welcome to my corner of VT! You may notice that I have logged in many places, but have relatively few tips. My intention here is not to document or share every experience I've had in all those places, but to use VT to record my travels close to home while I am hard at work in school.

I am living in Burlingame, close to the San Francisco Airport, working at San Francisco State University towards a B.S. in Ecology and a B.A. in German. In 2004-2005 I tackled the German language head-on by studying abroad in Tuebingen and Heidelberg, Germany. Most of my travels have been in connection with that year and a year in 1994-1995 when I studied in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Spain's Canary Islands. Feel free to ask me any questions about any of the places that you see in my travel pages; chances are I've lived in or done a ton of stuff there and also in cities or towns nearby.

Now reality is setting in in the form of a student's bank account that's as ripe for travel as a carry-on water bottle is these days.

Hence, my wanderlust and the tips you will find here. While I write them to share my experiences for the benefit of all potential travellers, secretly they are the angel on my shoulder's attempt to hold up a mirror to my great life whenever I need a nudge away from diffidence or listless daydreaming back into the books.
