"Shanghai - Busy City!!" Shanghai by CeciliaL
Shanghai Travel Guide: 3,044 reviews and 8,029 photos
Since I just moved to Shanghai, I am thinking I should probably write a few things about this city.
It was quite an interesting experience to visit this temple - due to the fact that I mistakenly followed the rule of 'lining up". No one really seemed to care if you were in front of them, getting ready to pay for the ticket...
So finally I realized I needed to just force my way to pay for a ticket. Hahaha, and I finally got into the temple.
Was not very successful with my bargaining yet. But I am sure I will get better as I stay here longer.
There are many many small shops around Yu Garden that sell all kinds of things - tea, chopsticks....... Was trying to get a tea set, but ended up buying tea.
- Pros:There are always a lot of things to do.
- Cons:People and cars are everywhere, no matter where you are.
- In a nutshell:A big contrast between the old and the new area.

Yep, sharpen your elbows and make your way through! That's what I did when I got tired of getting bypassed in the taxi queue outside the new South railway station. Keep honing your bagaining skills too :)
Lovely pics of your hometown !Shanghai is unfortunately still missing on my map :-((
Cecilia, nice to read about your Shanghai experiences.
Cecilia, very interesting to find out that you can move to the head of the line in China without being frowned upon!! Great tips as well on your experiences in this new city to you.
I still haven't discovered many places in Shanghai. You made some already. Welcome to the land of contrast!
