Moganshan (The Bamboo Forest)

This is the story - Moganshan is famous for its bamboo, beautiful natural springs and valleys often with low cloud cover. The name Moganshan comes from two blacksmiths (man & wife). Loooooong time ago, they were ordered to cast the sharpest sword in the world, but the iron wouldn’t solidify. So, in an attempt to help, the wife (whose name was Mo Ye) jumped into the forge and sacrificed herself. The husband (whose name was Gan Jiang) then finished the sword and followed his wife. The place where they cast the sword is now called “Mo Gan Shan” and the area is now a popular summer retreat, with its bamboo forests and breezy mountain tops. You will find 'Fox Tail Bamboo' here in Moganshan.

Hometown Minneapolis - Lakes & Snow & Snow

Snow

Minnesota is famous for "the Land of 10,000 Lakes". It is true we do have a lot of beautiful lakes. And it is especially nice in summer when we can walk around the lake, or get on a boat, or go fishing.....

Winters can be quite harsh. We have a LOT of snow. And there are days, when I can't leave my house/garage, if the streets/roads have not been shuffled yet.

I will update more later, Minneapolis is a very nice and quiet town

Shanghai, China

I have moved to Shanghai from the States since April of 2006. Can't believe it has been a year already!! It has been a very interesting (and also quite frustrating experience)

I am trying out a lot of local (interesting) food!!

Still trying to take a picture of the Pearl TV Tower, seems to be a landmark for Shanghai. It is a shame because I work so closeby, I really need to get up there one of these days.

I am still trying to work on my homepage and travel pages. Sorry :-( I don't have a lot of useful information yet. Please be patient and check back. I will get there......

Nepal

This is one of my favorite trip - Nepal. The mountains are so beautiful and the people there are so nice. Though I got many warnings from friends and colleagues that I should not go - due to the political situation. However, I guess I was very determined to go. So I did. And I was so glad that I did.

Friends in Florence

We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend

Silly me didn't get any museum pass/tickets in advance when I went to Florence. There was no way I was going to miss Uffizi. Ended up waiting in line for ....... 4 hours. Luckily, there were some wonderful people waiting in line. I met two nice gals from Argentina. We had a great time chatting our life (and hours) away.

Paragliding, Interlaken

My first experience of paragliding (in Interlaken)...... Thank God for my tandem partner. I was really afraid of height. So I was screaming so much in the beginning that I felt really bad for the pilot.

Well, I do need to overcome my weakness...... It was so fun, especially when our team headed to drink afterwards.

Cultural Visit

Kyoto, Japan

Wow, the trip to Kyoto was so much fun. We were pleasantly surprised that a lot of women or young girls did wear kimono around the temple or shrine. It took me a lot of courage to go ask if I could take a picture with this pretty girl.

Something I really missed out was onsen. Ha.... that will be a good excuse to go back and go to onsen.

Hello Cecilia! How are you? The picture is taken on Volcán Cotopaxi in Ecuador. It is a 5897 metres high mountain, and I made it to the top! It was great!
