The Oriental Hotel organizes fab dinner cruises on the River. The cruise takes place every night with a special boat called “Maeyanang”, which is an old rice barge. The Oriental web site promises an "unforgettable evening filled with dazzling images of river life, starlit temples and monuments" and that's true! The evening begins with a cocktail served in the lush gardens of the Oriental or in the world famous Author Lounge (I suggest taking the alchool free fruit cocktail, which is simply delicious!). After boarding, you can enjoy a tasty Thai buffet style dinner. After dinner, everyone is offered a beautiful orchid. The boat used on the cruise is constructed of golden teakwood, with traditional Northern Thai style wooden dining tables and chairs, and is the perfect romantic setting from which to experience the beauty of the River of Kings. This dinner may be little expensive: Adult - THB 1,850 ++ Children - THB 1,000 ++ But believe me, this experience is so stylish and unforgettable!

Bangkok is a huuuuge shopping heaven, the best I have ever been too! Although I have already been working on my "shopping tips" section, I decided to suggest "shopping" as an activity too! I chose "chopping" as my tip's title because it is the way Thai people say the word "shopping", and it is pretty funny. I will remember forever the taxi drivers laughing staring all my bags and saying: "ah ah! Chopping... Chopping... " I suggest buying as much as you can in BKK. Here is a list of nice shopping malls: Siam Paragon: new, but quite expensive. Nice for window shopping, expecially on the luxury brand floor! Siam Sqare: big, with many many shops, affordable prices Central: refined, chic, but quite cheap also World Trade Centre: one of my favourite, it is home of two big dep. store, Zen (left side) and Isetan (right side) MBK: the best for shopping!! Cheap prices and many many goods to choose from. To know more, have a look at my shopping tips!
