A little background information direct from...

http://www.eggharborcity.org :

The City of Egg Harbor was planned shortly before the Civil War by a group of German investors from Philadelphia, Pa. and was incorporated in 1858. The City's name dates back to 1614 when a Captain Cornelius Jacobsen Mey, a Dutchmen, sailed his ship from New York to explore the New Jersey Coast. When he entered the mouths of two rivers, Captain Mey and his men were amazed at the great number of eggs piled on the banks. Thus, the name "Eyren Haven" which in Dutch meant "The Harbor of Eggs."

My View

EHC is a small town west of Atlantic City (about 35 minutes west). Its home to many of my friends. Downtown EHC is a cute little area full of shopping stores, such as dollar stores, pizza shops, an eckard, and a few bars. Its a family, with a lake, a camp ground, cute little churches, and a few schools. Every year there is a city wide yardsale, where everyone sets up in their front yard, things to selll. People can go house to house looking for special treasures. It is a nice way to get aquainted with your neighbors, and to get out of the house and breathe the fresh air!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:family oriented, in the center of everything
  • Cons:nothing to do really
  • In a nutshell:its a nice place to live, but, for fun, search elsewhere
