"Welcome to Kailua" a Kailua Travel Page by April1985

While visiting Oahu I only just drove through Kailua. But let me tell you, It is a very nice area. THe houses here, were cute. But they cost nearly $1 million dollars ! Homes that back in South Jersey would only be $300-400,000. I couldnt get over how beautiful the gates were to the homes. Nearly every house had a rot iron gate in front of their drive ways! They were so decorative, with flowers, and mermaids, and trees and leaves. Just beautiful !

The best beaches !!! They are so beautiful !!! We went to the Kailua Beach and spent like a half hour there. There were people on the beach, playing vollyball, wind surfing, Surfing, boogie boarding, building sand castles, etc.. The water was really cold at first, because of the shock of it I guess. But after you get that first shock, the water feels so warm ! Like it was weird how warm it was . Like bathwater. And it was crystal Clear ! There were no lifeguards or anything, but i dont think there are any in hawaii ... at least not at the beaches. But oh my god , it was beautiful ! I actually got hit with a wave and my pants were wet for the rest of the day. But , it was so worth it !

We got lost trying to find the polynesian culture center, and we stoped and asked this guy that was watering his lawn for directions. He was so polite, and told us how to get there, but we were so confused because all of the street signs started with a K ! After driving for a while, I noticed that all of the mountains had fog over them . It looked so beautiful, I left like I was in a dream !
