Sergio's Italian Restaurant: Try the Brushetta

Restaurant Name: Sergio's Italian Restaurant
This restaurant is located in the Hilton Hawiian Village . They highly recomend making reservations, however we didnt make any, but managed to slip in because it was not very crowded. We also went at 8:00 pm . I ordered the stuffed grilled chicken breast , and i thought it was very delicious. It was stuffed with, what else but ham! It was very tasty, it also had some cheese inside of it. I was not a fan of the sauce it was in, i couldnt put my finger on it, at first i thought it had to be a mushroom sauce, then i noticed chopped up black things which i late figured out was hawaiian black olives, which i was not to kean on. But, im not going to dwell on the sauce. The chicken was delish ! Also, being from new jersey, i get a little spoiled , because no matter what people say about new jersey, we still are the garden state. they call us that because we have the best produce. Our tomoatoes do not compare to other states. So i was a little upset with the brushetta here. It was really good, but the tomoatoes were .. so so .. over all, i still highly recomend this place to eat with your family, or have a romantic evening out !

Tropics Bar & Beach Cafe: Beachside

Restaurant Name: Tropics Bar & Beach Cafe
This restaurant is located in the hilton hawaiian village right on the beach next to the super pool. During dinner time there is usually a live band, or just one guy out there playing a guitar, or singing. During the day you can sit inside or outdoor on the patio viewing the beautiful ocean. The food was typical american cafe food. Cheeseburger, fruit cup kinda stuff. Nothing special. The food comes in these weird baskets that take up a lot of room on the table. I knocked my drink over with it, thank goodness it was just water. The waittress didnt seem to care much she just pushed the water off the table with a plastic menu. Its just water , why not ? There seems to be a lot of sea birds all over the patio , that are very bold, and the waitresses have to chase them away with a squirt bottle. These sea birds , aka white pidgeons , stands on the backs of chairs and watch you eat , kinda creepy ... they dont scare off very easily .. but .. whatever .. didnt bother me too much ,actually made the wait go faster by watching them ! haha . Our waittress was a little rude , we were in the middle of ordering , and i guess we were talking too slow for her ,and she just said " ILL COME BACK " and she dissapeared before we could say we were ready . Who knows ... i thnk she was from new york ( haha )
Favorite Dish: i got a cheeseburger and fries

Rainbow Lanai: Casual Beachside

Restaurant Name: Rainbow Lanai
Located at the hilton hawaiian village. My family and I went to the Rainbow Lanai for the breakfast buffet. It featured hawaiian foods such as the pulled pork, sliced ham, fresh pinapple chunks, and pinapple juice. I thought it was okay. I did not think it was worth the amount of money that we paid for it. Sure its a buffet, but the food wasnt that good. The scrambeled eggs tasted like, egg beaters, and for the amount of money you pay, they should be fresh eggs. I was mupset about the watermelon as well. But i guess because hawaii has to import most of their items, i couldnt expect too much from them. It tasted very watered down, most likey because they are not in season in january. The omlettes were fresh eggs and they tasted delicious. The ham and bacon were good, the pulled pork was alright. And to my suprize the pinapple was very sour. I felt like i could have gotten fresher pinapple out of a can, rather than at this buffet.
Favorite Dish: the fresh omlettes were the best, i would say go get one of those !

Benihana: Watch your food sizzle

Restaurant Name: Benihana
Benihana is a hibachi style restaurant in which you sit at a table with other families and watch your food be prepared by culinary masters with their coreographed cooking techniques. It is a great way to have fun while you eat . And mom always said dont play with your food ! Ha , well not here folks , here you can play all you want ! Now, I had a little stomach problem with this place . I had the filet minon with chicken , and i dont think he cooked my steak enough , or maybe it was my fault for ordering chicken in hawaii .. i was stuck in the bathroom all night long , i thought i had gotten food poisoning. Luckily i didnt, however i was staying clear of all asian resturants for the rest of my trip. I was also a little upset, because i have been to Benihana's before in new york city, and they were amazing. the shows were great, and they stacked the onions up like a volcano and set them on fire to make is appear like they had erupted. Well ,that was new york, you would think, out of all places, hawaii would do this ? well , i was wrong, the show wasnt that interesting. it was way over priced, and didnt have my favorite menu item - chicken teriyaki , which in new york is only like 18 bucks .
Favorite Dish: steak , shrimp , lobster, and usually chicken

Restaurant Name: CJ's New York Style Delicatessen
This restaurant, located in the rainbow bazaar at the hilton hawaiian village, became out favorite place to eat breakfast before we head off to the beach. Not only was it normal to us , because we are from new jersey/new york, but the prices were really good, and the food was amazing ! The poportions were huge, but, even if we didnt finnish, we were happy to get a little bit anyway ! We came here over and over again ! The wait staff was extremely friendly, and you can sit out side and people watch , just like new york , only with the hawaiian sea breeze !
Favorite Dish: ham & cheese omlette, cheese burger, pancakes and salads

Restaurant Name: Lappert's Ice Cream
This place is delicious ! I had so many different ones I can not even remember the one I ate . It had vanilla ice cream , raspberry sorbet, and chocolate fudge cake in it . I had a waffle cone, and i was in heaven . This ice cream is amazing. There is nothing else to say , except that you have to try it if you are staying at the hilton hawaiian village , or around it . Its great and not too expensive ! They have such a great variety of macadamia nuts, coconut, kona coffee, guava, pinapple, or mango. They have tons of sugar free sorbet's and they are all delicious ! You can ask to try some , because why pay for something you wont like ( that is if you can choose .. its a very hard decision )
