Aren't they just so? Like seagulls perhaps, these dwellers (mostly are hotel occupants as we see here) perch on the rocky slopes, which are so characteristic of this island.

The pier beneath this giantic volcanic formation is primarily for travellers and tourists coming by the wide-bodied cruises. I also travelled from Mykonos to Santorini by those fabulous ferries.
The city centre is in fact high up on the flat land on this volcanic isle, and it's amazing when coaches deliver you through meandering routes up the cliff rocks to the city centre.

So they say, you'll see the most magnificient sunset atop the cliff. Alas, not on that late afternoon when I got there. It's said that the evening glow paints the white walls a brilliant patch of gold. Yet no one was disappointed, as they really sampled the sea breeze, blending so nicely with the pleasant environment of the busy narrow streets crisscrossing up there. It's another wonder when shops all light up with lamps, creating an almost magical atmosphere all around you
