I always longed to visit the French Riviera beautiful towns, Nice being the first and foremost, not just for its breathtaking beautiful scenery but also for its rich cultural heritage. The 2 museums on Matisse and Chagall are a must for modern art lovers. I spent only 2 days there but just fell in love with this city and was gratified by what it has brought to and inspired me. It's a real treasure, a gem, a sapphire of Cote d'Azur.

French painters have been drawn to this town and some even stayed long. The weather, people and scenery have been vividly portrayed on a great many canvas. Here's some stunning colours at dusk that could have enlivened at the brushes of the great masters. Yet photos certainly cannot tell truly what the naked eye does see,

They don't call it azur for no reasons -- just be absolutely amazed by the different shades and patches of blue all at the same time in the Mediterranean Sea under the bright sun, forming not a tranquil but a vibrant image of alluring blue waters brushing the shore, against yet another bluish horizon far yonder. I could soak in this magical beauty all day long hanging out at the promenade.
