One of the cheapest destination for holiday in Turkey is located very close to Istanbul into the Marmara Sea at its South West side. AVSA or AVSHA as it is pronounced in Turkish. You also may go there from Tekirdag (200 klm west of Istanbul) it doesn't take more than 2 hours. From Silivri (apx 60 klm west of Istanbul) takes about 4 hours and the ferry is not better than the boats of Eminonu or Karakoy to Bostanci. It has no air condition and quite uncomfortable seats. The cost is 18.00 YTL per person (pretty expensive) but you can nowhere find tickets. You just get into the boat, if you decide to take your car with you the fee is 40.00 YTL, and just wait there until the guys come to you and get the fees handed, without receipts... of course!

Avsha Island is still unknown for the Westerners they come to Turkey or even other more conservative Turks as it doesn't have any airport. Of course this is not a bad but instead it is a good thing for those they are looking for cheap holiday destinations. If you compare it with other popular destinations in Turkey, you can easily find out how cheap it is. Imagine there are only 2 jeweleries to exchange money without any exchange currency board. It is just mentioned in Turkish: DOVIZ ALINIR.

Almost everyone in Avsha is doing the same profession during the summer. Motel, Otel, Pansiyon. They are nothing but rooms to let businesses and there are some of them to be originally hotel businesses. Even a crowdy place during the July and the August, Avsha, is not a place to let you down because you are definitely going to find some place to spend the night for sure.

Prises they do not exceed 70 YTL a person for the night and at the most of the cases including breakfast. The most reasonable prise is 40-50 YTL

Of course as a "Turkish" destination, I didn't even see a sample of foreign tourist over there, is a destination Turkish people can afford. So from this point of view that helps you understand you are not going to have any problem to do the same. They are of course inexpensive restaurants and taverns around the sea side, if you choose to have a room without kitchen and cook yourself your own meals.
