i went to athens three times in the span of five weeks - not because i'm a jetsetter or anything, just a bit of a planning glitch.
spent one afternoon there just to catch a ferry to santorini.
spent another night there just to catch a plane to egypt.
and, finally, spent several days there right at the end of my trip around the mediterranean.
i strongly suggest you don't tease yourself this way before actually getting to see this historic city, it can result in some unwanted foaming in the mouth.
that's kinda what happened. the whole time i was going around the med, i couldn't help but salivate in anticipation of seeing more of the place - not just the ferry docks and airport. when i finally got there the 3rd time around, it didn't help that i saw the acropolis on the way to my hotel. i was so anxious to see it i almost forgot to check-in!
glad to report all that foaming wasn't in vain, athens is amazing!

those short shorts wouldve made a great souvenir of your time in Greece!?Enjoyed seeing yr pics here - and seeing DAOs familiar face with you guys.
Yazu Miko - thanks for the flowery comment :) Wish I could explore the Greek Empire - I SOOOOO need a holiday - well a bottle of vino will have to do and some stuffed wine-leaves ... Happy weekend :D
