"Making new friends" Kokshetau by Wisconsinguy
Kokshetau Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 7 photos
In order to get to Kokshetau, we took a 3 day train ride on the Trans Siberia Railroad. That is another story in itself. Once in Kokshetau, I was picked up by 2 brothers and taken by taxi to their home on the outskirts of the city. The city of Kokshetau is very spread out and has a popluation of around 300,000. The roads are very rough and mostly dirt.
The brothers Alan and Ulan are true Kazaks. The faces of people in this country are varied because of the long Russian occupation. It was around 3 am in the morning and I was quite tired when I arrived but both Alan and Ulan were excited to meet me. We sat up drinking tea and listened to Eminem.
