It is the re-inactment of the life of Longjeno, the leader of Roman Soldier who Crucified Jesus Crist. He was the tough military whose heart was soften after witnessing Jesus suffering. For more details, Please check Googles.
Anyway..to get to Marinduque, from Manila take bus to Lucena City (3 hours) Jeep to Dalahican..and boat for 2 to 3 hours..Only 1 boat per day during ordinary day....fee=500 Pesos..boat leave the port at 10 AM.
There are 2 main port in Marinduque, Buyabod and Balanacan. Buyabod is for Sta.Cruz, Torrijos bound passenger, the rest are for Balanacan port..Dont worry you can take either port, it is only a matter of distance and time. Hotel? there are cheap hotel there.
Intereting place to visit: Elephant Island, Marcopper Mining, White Beach, etc.
People are very hospitable..one way of welcoming tourist is by performing "Putong", it is like they will dance while putting a crown in your head...(not a gold crown), just a hand made one.
Anyway just try visiting Marinduque..the heart shape island.

Mt. Malinding, Torrijos

It is the only dormant volcano in the province, situated in the southwestern part of the island..there is no record of eruption and hopefully no record to come in the future.
Local folks has lot of legend stories about this mountain..In the foreground is the so called white beach..most local folks here do fishing and farming.
