  • it's definetly worth visiting.
to avoid queues you can come on the evening openings.
I came on friday night at 6 o'clock( until 9.45 p.m). It's free for people under 26 years.

I came again on sunday after the louvre closed just to sit and rest outside the glass pyramid. It was very beautiful and also quite. there were only few people so me and my boyfriend could relax and enjoyed the sunset. I really like it.

I am not sure it was quite because the louvre is already closed or because that day there was the world cup 2006 Final france VS italy.

  • I bought paris museum card for two days (30 euros). I bought mine in Louvre, but you can also purchase it in museum and monument participant or tourist information

I entered 8 places with that card,

Saving me time for waiting in queues in museum d'orsay and museum rodin( in museum rodin there were no sign to enter with museum card so you need to go to front fo the queues and show them your museum card , they will let you in )

and other places there were no queues

I still need to wait like an hour in line to enter Notre Dame tower

  • the concierge was turned into prison at 14 century. More than 4000 people were held prisoner here half of whom were guilotine (including Marie-antoinette)

the most interesting thing for me were the re-creation of marie antoinette cell before she died in guilotine and rue de paris.

the medieval kitchen was closed when i went there.

  • This is one of my favorite places.

The view from the top is very beautiful , you can see clearly without safety net like in eiffel tower or Notre Dame tower.
There is certain time ( i think every hour or half hour -- not sure-- ) to go to the top and limited time in the top.

and here also lie the tomb of famous french person like Victor hugo , alexander dumas, marie Currie , ...
it's so moving to see people all around the world paid them respect.

  • Notre dame is famous Gothic architecture, it took 200 years to build it.

By going up to see the tower, you will be following victor hugo characters in his famous book Hunchback of notredame.

during the summer you can come in the evening to avoid the queues.

I come in the morning around 11 o clock, every 10 minutes they will let 20 people in to the tower for aproximately 45 minutes including climb the stairs. I waited for more than an hour in line and then climb the stairs and have to wait around 10 minutes in the giftshop before they let you go to the tower.

the view is beautiful and it's worth waiting for but it's really brief,
Next time i'll try in the evening.

  • The queues is amazing if you go in the afternoon.

I went there around 11 at night, there were no queues.
The view from the top floor is wonderful.

I think that explain the long queues because if you go to paris you must visit the eiffel tower.

to go to the top floor is 11 euro .
you can take the stairs to the second floor for 3 euro under 25 years

    opening time (summer) : 09.00 a.m -12.45 a.m

I was wondering if you have any of the Arc de Triomphe on 12 july 06. I was there with my husband & daughter, we were invited to attend from the audience for ceremony, but 4 days later at the Pompidou Center my camera was stolen so lost all photos.

Good idea to go places in the evening to avoid the queues. Personally I couldn't do that because I am always busy in the evenings, but for someone who isn't, that would save a lot of hassle. Welcome to VT, by the way. I see you just joined yesterday.
