We've lived in Wisconsin for many decades, and we've reached a point in our lives where we are able to make a big move, and not have to worry about a lot of loose ends. Kathy has grandchildren and grown children, so we plan on returning to Wisconsin yearly to visit. We are done shoveling snow, and paying high taxes in the U.S. We are buying a house in Marica, Brazil in August, 2006. Marica is 35 minutes East of Rio and 10 minutes E. of Niteroi. We think it's a great location. We checked out Costa Rica and Belize... Brazil won. We would appreciate any tips on adjusting to life in Brazil vs a small Wisconsin town. Is the cost of living very low as we've been told? Are there many Americans in Marica, Niteroi? Any advice would be appreciated.... Thanks!
