"Bergen" Bergen by adema29

Coming in Bergen from Stavanger, I have to say that the first impression was unexpectedly good. Bergen is the second city I have seen, after Oslo, with a real “city look”, an old architecture, part of it likely European and part still having the “touch” of the specific Norwegian style.
Actually this strange combination is making the city so unique

Bergen Brygge

City’s roots are going back in time in the eleventh century. Bergen has replaced Trondheim as capital of Norway in 1217 until 1299 when Oslo took it’s place.
Bergen was one of the “members” (more than this, Bergen was one of the four main “Kontors”) of Hanseatic League, being very well known for his trade with dried cod, mainly.

It was really warm up there...

Everybody in Norway knows that in Bergen is raining… almost always raining. Despite of this bad information, we were the luckiest people having three very hot days in Bergen. And when I am saying HOT my mind is comparing it with Antalya or Malta. With the difference that here we were missing the advantage of the air conditioning. Nobody expects that the weather can be so “bad” to need the AC in a hotel in Bergen.

• Pros:Everything
• Cons:The prices...they are huge, like everywhere in Norway.
• In a nutshell:The warmest place in Norway :)
