| | 1955/56 Thats when we moved from Inverness to Edinburgh. I was 4, so can't be precise. I remember being unhappy to move away.
It was the beginnings of my nomadic existence. By the time I was 30, I had lived in 7 different places - most in Scotland, but also in France and the USA.
The wanderlust did not come from my parents. They've moved once in those 50+ years, and that was only an 18 mile flit on retirement. |
these days I always look forward to re-visiting the city.
Unfortunately, recent trips have been for my son's ice hockey games and the fixtures have been set for December/January - the worst time to go, because its cold and dark and travel conditions can be tricky.
We did take in Culloden battlefield (on the outskirts) on a recent trip, but did not go into the city.
As I write this it is mid-December 08, and we're about to set off on one of those hockey trips. Staying overnight as he won't be finished until late evening, but no time for anything more than the hockey! | | |
| | future I should plan a long weekend there, just to "catch up" and see some of the delights in the surrounding area. |

SteveOSF Wed Jul 23, 2008 17:39 UTC Looks like scenic country, even without the monster. | christine.j Fri Apr 11, 2008 07:53 UTC We also didn't see the monster, although we looked out for it or him? or her?? For some reason Nessie is considered female in German, I wonder why? |
