Dublin Travel Guide: 5,063 reviews and 9,245 photos
I visited the city on business twice during the 90s, but because its so near, they were just day trips.
First one I did manage a lunch at the University Club, then a pint after the meeting before heading back to the airport. Second time, I don't think there was time for lunch or a pint!
Desperately seeking a break in April 08, Dublin was a good bet. A chance to see why its so popular.
I took the ferry over to Belfast and then drove south. We had 2 days in the city, then a trip out west to Galway and Limerick.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Excellent hotel - see tips
Wonderful restaurant - in Howth (again see tips)
Chester Beatty Library (also in tips)
Only real downside is the traffic.
UPDATE!
Returned for a conference in April 11.
- Pros:Vibrant; fun; people
- Cons:Traffic; prices (20% higher than home)
- In a nutshell:Glad I went - go again anytime!
