We could only spare an "overnighter" in Galway, sandwiched between the main purposes of being in Ireland - to see Dublin and go horse racing in Limerick.
At times during the drive from Dublin I wondered if it would be worth the effort - some parts of the road are not much fun. However, it turned out to be super and definitely a good move |
| | Highlights The town centre is great, as is the River Corrib and its exit into the Bay. A real delight to walk around and explore.
We had a very good dinner in a village restaurant, a decent hotel, and good weather.
There is a market on Saturday morning and as we were negoiating a purchase, Gordon Ramsay arrived to film a piece complete with production crew. |
| | Haste ye back? Definitely on the wish list for a return visit - perhaps a long weekend, or a week exploring the west now that we've got Dublin out of our systems! |
