| | Where is it? About 5 hours by road north east of Bangkok, just north of Cambodian border. On the train route to Ubon Ratchathani.
You can get the bus (day or night), train (also daytime or overnight) or drive. |
Why go? For me, I had to. Its my ex wife's home town. For anyone else, it gives a good picture of Isaan life, and you can visit the Khmer ruins at Khao Phnom Rung - part of the Angkor chain of temples | | |
| | What's good People, weather, food. Food is spicy - watch out. Weather is hot, hot and dry or hot and wet. People are a bit crazy, but aren't we all in our own way? |

ellsasha Sun Nov 2, 2008 19:11 UTC I love these smaller towns. My one regret when I was in Cambodia was that I didn't visit Anlong Veng the place where Pol Pot died before he could be brought to international justice. Cambodia is both beautiful and tragic. I will go back one day. | calcaf38 Sun Sep 23, 2007 23:04 UTC Lovely page. You must have had a great time there. Thank you for the driving directions to Long Island. |
