Hogmanay and Haggis; Scotland's two big 'H' things

Scottish Night Club New Years 2007
Hey, it doesn't matter if the outdoor party (Hogmanay) gets rained out. Does it? Sniff Sniff. Live bands such as the Fratellis playing outdoors would have been cool but sub-hurricane winds and a nice storm stopped that from happening this year of 2007. I asked the concierge at Euro Hostel where I should go and he said I should find my own party. I thought to myself that I would do just that and I went on a mission out in the storm to find out where the party had moved to. I decided to find a a local bar in Glasgow to chill out at. I walked down Buchannen street braving the storm in my search for the spirit of Hogmanay. I ended up ducking into a cool local bar in Glasgow that served food. While I was there I tried a local dish called Haggis. Sean Connery rips on Christopher Lambert in the movie Highlander for eating such 'revolting' food so I thought to myself, why don't I try it? The reason why many people have not tried it is because, it is sheep intestine stuffed with meat and barley and served with potatoes. Probably due to local laws, other countries do not serve this meal. Scotland is the exception to this rule. The meal was black and looked gross but was surprisingly quite good. I washed it down with some Peary cider. While at the bar, I met some partying locals and got invited to a nightclub party a few blocks away. The party was in a huge warehouse near Buchannen street. At the party I was shocked to learn that the young females in Scotland are the ones who now wear the plaid kilts as many women find it sexy to do so. At this nightclub with my newly found Scottish buddies, I ushered in the year 2007 Scottish style.
