"The Most Southern City In the World" Punta Arenas by RawdgerDodger

Punta Arenas is the most Southern City on a continent in the Southern Hemisphere. There are cities further then this such as Ushuaia but cities such as Ushuaia are technically not located on the South American Continent but on an large island to the south. The blue ocean in the distance is actually the famous Straits of Magellan. It was named this after that famous explorer Magellan passed through this area while searching for a cut from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. This picture was taken during August of 2007 and surprisingly it is a quite warm 40 degrees fareignheight outside. The norm is around 10-15. There was a blustery wind that was pretty cold but for the most part this part of the world was much warmer then I expected. Global warming? Maybe.
