I HAD A DREAM.
I had a dream in which I was the owner of two paintings: "Mona Lisa" and "Girl with a pearl earring".
What would I do if that was real?
Sell Mona Lisa and become a rich man: keep the Vermeer for my pleasure!

So I had to come to this page....and the Vermeer....Oh I will send her the link...she will love 'The goldfinch'
Marg
Would love to see the girl for real one day! Stunning Vermeer!!!
I just learned about the Teylers Museum fm yr Haarlem page. Immediately after, found a reference to it on Expatica (good website originating in the Netherlands.) Teylers and the Louvre are presenting a comprehensive exhibition on Claude Lorrain, at the Teylers until 8 January. If only I could fly over for a week!
That's a very plausible explanation of why the Girl with the Pearl Earring is Vermeer’s best-loved painting.
Keep the Vermeer for your pleasure.
