Ce qui faisait le charme de cette forteresse entourée d'eau a disparu.
Les travaux de restauration en cours depuis 2007 ont vidé les douves de leur eau et démonté le pont en bois si typique et évocateur du Moyen Age.
L'intérieur est laissé à l'abandon; les déjections de pigeon s'accumulent aux étages supérieurs. Les escaliers sans la moindre main courante sont dangereux pour les enfants et les seniors.
I must say to my regret that it was a disappointment. Works of restoration since 2007 emptied the moat of its water and dismounted the typical wooden bridge over the water. What made the charm of this fortress surrounded by water thus disappeared.
The interior seems left with abandonment. The dejections of pigeons accumulate on the upper floors of the three towers. The staircases without any handrail are dangerous for the children and the seniors. |

Too bad your re-visit to the Kaasteel van Beersel was so teleurstellend - decevant - disappointing. (Perhaps also enttäuschend?) I'm sure those pigeons forgot all other languages when they crossed the linguistic border and just left monolingual droppings. |
