Paris-Plage ?

The reason of the name Paris-Plage is not clear to me because Le Touquet is much closer to Lille (150 km) than Paris (230 km).

I write this comment for those Belgians who are tired of the concrete wall of the Flemish coast, traffic jams, parking difficulties even in the week outside the holiday season, and who are looking for some maritime area 240 km from Brussels or 170 km of Tournai or Kortrijk.
Our visit was in June, during the week, on a beautiful sunny day.
Le Touquet was almost empty, abundant and free parking on the seafront!

I would not say that this is so during the weekends or holidays.

Paris-Plage ?

I like the quieter deserted beaches too!

Thank you for visiting my reviews on these places in the North of France. From time to time I escape the Louvre to have a look at the sea !

Looks like you were here on the "perfect" day...This beach looks like its well worth a detour to see and relax a little on..and so close to amenities.

I always thought they called it Paris-Plage because they wanted Parisians to come and spend money there. But now Paris has its own "Paris-Plages" every summer on the banks of the Seine.
