As you travel from cotonou to accra you pass by the coast line of Lome and the view is beautiful. Lome also has the distinction of being the only capital to be situated on the border. A walk on the beach is recommended.

Also worth visiting is the local markets. You can buy a lot of local artifacts..mostly bronze and nickle ..but be prepared to bargain!!!

Also if you have a taste for oil paintings you can pick up some from the road side ..if you are good at choosing you can lay your hands on some really nice canvas for dirt cheap.
