The Guardin' State of Mind...of the Garden State

Actually, I just use that title because the famous movie with the same name as me has that line within it's script.
I, on the other hand am not your typical party animal. I am a public school music teacher who has a passion for music and travel. I enjoy travelling throughout my homeland, The United States of America, and my home planet, Earth. No matter where I travel, I am surrounded by all the incredible detail and beauty that God has so lovingly created for us to live in. I am always in awe as I behold the wonders and glory in His creation.
Virtual Tourist has provided me with a glimpse into your world as you who are reading this are faithful to share your own little corner of the world and your travels and experiences to the VT community.
Perhaps that is the greatest joy in travelling...meeting and getting to know, more intimately, God's greatest creation... mankind. So many different colors, features, cultures and customs... and the beautiful spirit that lives within so many of them in their individual and unique ways. That is what makes VT so addicting.... seeing the world through each other's eyes, hearts, minds and souls.

Land of the Giants

Yes there are Giants all throughout my home state. Some silently stand guard and watch over us from their posts all along the Atlantic Ocean coastline of New Jersey.

Still keeping watching over us...

"Barney" Barnegat Lighthouse

even as time and tides threaten their existance, and they no longer are needed in the same ways they once were when they were in their former glory. Yet somehow, we might even need them more...as a reminder of how far we have come... and how powerful the light can be in dispelling the darkness.

Some look like they could just walk away

and head off into the ocean and their extinction along with the rest of their species. Fortunately, this one has been kept alive along with all that she means to us and has kept in her memory for us to visit and re-live. ( Elephants have great memories... even Baby Ellies).

Some Giants roam Northern New Jersey

These Giants appear every fall and winter and roam the meadowlands where they often strike fear into the hearts of invaders of their home turf.

Some giants defend us from the air above!

What the lighthouses and Giants of the North cannot defend will come under the responsibility of these giant Birds of Prey. They keep their watch against enemy forces that might attempt to invade their airspace anywhere in the southern part of "Jersey", Philadelphia, and the entire Delaware Valley region and beyond during the fall and winter months.

as a symbol to all the world that the Light of Liberty shines brightly here in the USA and welcomes all who love truth and freedom. It is New Jersey's honor that she stands next to her shore faithfully, day and night, shining her light on all who come. Once again, the light dispells the darkness.

Hi Wayne - nice pic of Liberty statue - i was luckily right up the top of it in 2000 - its still off limits isnt it?happy ongoing vt and travels.have a good weekend ahead too!
