A real taste of England | The beautiful Salisbury cathedral |
I had the privelege of staying in this beautiful town for approx 5 months while working my way through the UK. Salisbury is to a large extent what I suppose many foreigners imagine England to be. There are beautiful buildings, stunning countryside not far out of town and friendly people. I would defintely say that it is worth a visit or quick stop if you ever have the opportunity to visit. The town is quite popular with tourists mainly because it is very close to Stone Henge and many tourgroups eventually pass through town on their way there. Salisbury is still in my opinion a very middle to affluent class town - it is not obvious or easy to see the horrible "council estates and flats" that is so prevelant in many larger communities in England |
