I have been visiting Matheran for weekends since quite some time now. Its a 2 hour journey from Mumbai into a place sans civilisation - well almost :). Pros and Cons

Pros:Quiet, Beautiful, No hustle of Mumbai
Cons:Cant think of any
In a nutshell:An extreme contrast to the commercial capital of India
