Country Girls Will Survive

by ahouse2003 - last update: Jun 13, 2007

Lake Guntersville, Alabama
I was born and raised in Alabama. I know what your are thinking - obese country bumpkins with narry a smidgen of smarts in their noggin. But there is hope for you all!! Things here are not always as they are portrayed on TV. There are 41 different languages spoken in the town in which I live. We have a large international community of scientists, engineers, educators, businessmen, artists, musicians - you name it, we've got it!! See, not so bad - right? Read on...

Visit Alabama

For anyone who would like to visit the state of Alabama, let me just tell you that we have beautiful lakes and rivers for fishing, skiing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and wildlife viewing. Alabama has just mapped out the North Alabama birding trail. We have many state parks for hiking, camping, and viewing lovely scenery. And who could forget our white sandy beaches where you can relax in the sun or play in the water? For those that prefer the city life, our cities are certainly not as large as those elsewhere, but there is incredible dining, nightlife, shopping, and historical downtown sites.
Me and my husband - travel partners for life!

Home sweet home

In conclusion, even though I love to see the world, Alabama will always be my home. We may have a bad name, but all I can say is that everyone should come see it for themselves. I look forward to learning about everyone's travel adventures, and finding tips from the experts. I pray God's blessing on you all in your adventures to come.

We seem to have almost identical views of the Best Western Hotel in San Jose, CR. Nice little hotel, good location, I'd use it again.
