Our 25th anniversary gift to our family We went to Paris for 9 days in August of 2006. We left the day of the terror alert but really had no real porblems. Stayed at Hotel Waldorf Madeleine and had a great experience. Walked everywhere and later learned to use the Metro which saved many steps. We took our two children age 16 and 21 and we talk about our trip almost weekly. We had no rudeness problems finding only helpful natives who cared as long as we tried our best american french.
