PARIS

Paris en hiver ( a view from Montmarte...)
History, culture, fashion, cuisine, beauty, love...are all unavoidable when visiting a city of this stature. But before/during/after you rush to the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, you simply have to get lost. This could consist of a variety of things such as, an early morning stroll in Montmarte as the shops open, warm pain au chocolate in a small bakery, people watching in Jardin des Tuileries or trying to speak a sentence in French. Try to take the metro but indulge in the occasional taxi to see the city fly by above ground. These items in conjunction with the attractions will give your trip depth. Only the French could make the grandest city in the world seem so intimate and personal. Explore, get lost, indulge

Montmarte

An absolute MUST to any Paris trip. See more on my Montmarte page...

I believe experience is more valuable than money and no point to regret anything...even if it gave you just a very short notion of happiness and excitement...

OMG, Mark, you all were sitting in the exact same spot where we sat at the Hemingway Bar!! LOVE your tips - they are sooo funny! Encore, encore!! (and yes, ahem, I *would* eat croissants for dinner just for a room at La Terrass).

Evidently you had fine weather for your visit to Paris in December. I agree about the joys of getting lost. Many's the time I have done that, for instance at night on a bicycle. Looking forward to reading more tips here.
