"Your Accommodation Guide in SAGADA" gareth13's Profile

Why Sagada?

In relation to various other tourist destination in the Philippines, Sagada remains a unique combination of mountains and native culture. The altitude gives that coolness and feeling of well-being, not found in the lowlands; while the abundance of shady pine trees enhances the beauty of the environment - on inheritance to be proud of. These factors encourage the visitor to enjoy the simple pleasures of walking - unhindered by traffic or pollution. Added to this, the physical rice terraces make one's effort all the move rewarding. There also exists an intriguing blend of Christian and traditional culture and customs that add to the appeal and friendliness of the local people. They are proud of their identity and their traditions, something we have almost lost in the western world, as it rapidly becomes "globalized!" And in spite of the gradual encroachment of modernization, and technology and tourism there remains an enviable balance between man and nature, a sense of harmony and peace, difficult to find elsewhere. Thats why Sagada is a special place for all of us.

Things You must Know!!!!

What to prepare when going to Sagada

Sweater/Jacket --- no questions asked, just get one.

rubber slippers --- you will need that for the cave, trust me.

During Peak Seasons ([December 23 - January 2] [Holy Week] [ November ammm.. all souls day period]) remember to reserve for your inns and guesthouses. if you failed to do so, you could still come here and look for trancient type houses.. e-mail me if you are out of places to stay.. crazyhim16@yahoo.com

short pants ----- you need that for better movements in the cave..

backup- money ----- no ATM's in sagada, only a bank..

other things you must know!!!!!

------ yes there is cellphone signal (smart and sometimes globe)
------ there are internet shops
------ market day is on Saturdays
------ some hotels, inns, guesthouses have no parking space, no hot showers, no restaurants so you should consider asking that when you are reserving a place for your stay in sagada.
------ guides are found at the municipal hall or sometime around sagada.
------ you can plan your activities at the tourist information center.
------ The cave is not only the main attraction of sagada, it includes a trek to Mount Ampacao, the water falls, the echo valley, the underground river, to the pine forests around sagada, a visit to the old village of the town etc...
------ when you are around sagada, walking is the best way to enjoy its sceneries.
