I took this photo during my second visit to Crete August 2005, now it is hanged in my home to remind me one of the most beautiful place I have ever seen

I have been in almost every place all around Crete island. My favourite part is South West, starting from Matala follow the coast clockwise to Chania area. There are many wonderful scenic beaches, Elafonissi, Falassarna and of couse Balos beach in the Gramvousa peninsula, but there are also nice and quite costal village like Matala and Paleochora. Here you can find good greek restaurant and cheap and comfortable studios or family run hotel.
