"Western side of Lago di Garda" Lago di Garda by oriettaIT

Waking up in Riva del Garda we found out the weather turned to rain and cold, it wasnt possible to use the hotel pool and relax so we decided to take off and go home driving slowly along the western side of Lago di Garda.
The costal road is called "Gardesana Occidentale" and it is the kind of road you wish to drive if you are a biker and if, for a day, somebody decide that no car will drive it :-). But even without these conditions it is a great experience. The road id pretty rough, with a lot of curves and several tunnels, but the landscapes it offer are wonderful.
Some parts of the road are high up overhanging rocks and it offer a view of the villages underneath. During the summer there are many oleander tree with colorful flower and of course the citrus tree. This are have the perfect weather to grow citrus, and it is quite famous for the tasty fruits it produce. It is also interesting to see how they built stones greenhouses to protect the tree from the strong wind and during the winter.
Almost every village along the coast worth a stop. I will describe some of them in the tips here.
