This is a residential town on the plateau in the centre of the island, it is quite often rainy and not as warm as the coast which is why it is home to a large number of people. The shopping here is ok, less pricey than Port Louis with some nice Mauritian and Chinese goods available, the market is smelly but worth a look!!
I lived in Curepipe for 4 years as a child and went to school at the Loretto Convent, it was lovely to go and re-visit my old haunts, the Botanical Gardens was my playground!!
