It was founded by Alexander the Greatin 331BC. Alexander was called as Iskandar in egypt. Alexandria, Iskandariyah in Egypt, is the main port of Egypt, the mouth of the Nile River to Meditteranian Sea. It is located about 225 km north from Cairo, the most attracted place during summer when the temperature in Cairo is heating up. Like the founder, Alexandria is trully great!!!

Alexandria was a mixture civilization in Egypt history. You may see that Roman culture was highly influenced the Alexandria people during Roman occupation time. It influenced the mummification ritual as well, as you can see in CATATOMBS. The architecture was effected too, like THE POMPEY`s PILLAR, built by the Egyptian. The roman stories and affairs of Cleopatra with Julius Caesar and Marc Antony might be giving some hints to the romantic atmosphere in the CORNICHE area. Sandy breezing beach walking will be great a attraction too. Moslem`s influence in the early years can be seen in Citadel and the mosques of ALexandria. I believe there will be many attractions to see in Great Alexandria but unfortunatelly I was not able to spend more time there.
