Getting TO/AROUND: Cairo International Airport is still under construction.When I went to Cairo in February 2007, the old one was used while waiting the construction. You have to go to the airport at least 2.5-3 hours before your departure time. You have to anticipate the traffic hours and busy streets in Cairo. If you stay in the hotel, ASK THE HOTEL`S RECEPTION TO ARRANGE THE TAXI FOR YOU.I may say, you have to ask for the fare first. The old airport is small with only one functional gate to the checking in desk. If you want to go to the toilet, you better use the toilets in duty free area, not in the waiting room area before the checking in desk. Airport tax usually will be included when you buy your plane tickets. The old airport has few boarding gates. I hope the new airport will be much better than the old one.

Getting TO/AROUND: Yes, wireless internet is available in the old Cairo International Airport. You may surf on internet while waiting for your flight or eating in the airport cafes. Well, if you come to Cairo as a tourist, your laptop will just limit your time to enjoy your Cairo magical trip.

Getting TO/AROUND: The old Cairo International Airport Duty free is relatively small, it was on my February 2007 visit. The new one is under construction, hopely it will have a great duty free. The souvenirs and gifts in this area are expensive, doubled than the normal price in good Giza shops. Few shops for perfumes and clothes and some cafetarias. I wonder why the perfumes section in the duty free dont display the testers. When we arrive there noon time, the duty free area like a dead city, nobody was there at all. Less options to buy and more expensive in their prices. If you plan to buy something in duty free and you will have connecting flight from Dubai, Dubai duty free will be a good place to shop.
